There has never been a more appropriate time for the adage that every business is a technology business. The distinctions between business strategy and technology strategy are becoming hazier, and the gap between the digital leaders and the rest is widening daily. In this new world, change is a constant and organizational stagnation an existential threat to the corporation. It requires businesses to adopt a fundamental business strategy that places a high priority on technical innovation and excellence.
Organizations running SAP solutions have a huge opportunity to capitalize on this moment of truth by leading with technology.
A migration to SAP S/4HANA is in the horizon, according to almost all of the current SAP clients that valantic polled. 95 percent of research participants either now use or plan to use the latest SAP business software. In comparison to 2021, when only 82 percent of respondents said they planned to migrate, this is a huge increase. At the same time, from 18 percent in 2021 to 5 percent today, the percentage of respondents who do not want to immigrate in the near future decreased by 2/3.
For the vast majority of respondents (81 percent compared to 66.7 percent in 2021), the most important reason for the transfer is the modernisation of their SAP applications and technical infrastructure. The SAP product strategy and the discontinuation of support for older SAP ERP systems are the second most significant factors. A brownfield system conversion is currently the preferred migration strategy (41.9 percent, or more than double the 19 percent reported in 2021). A bluefield strategy comes in second place (at about 37 percent versus 50 percent in 2021) and is followed by a greenfield fresh implementation in third position (preferred by just 20 percent compared to 31 percent in 2021).
